Optimization of Patient Issues in PET

Pediatric Considerations:

• Clear instructions to patient and parents

• Good IV access (sedate first when required)

• Central line may be used with careful access

• Elevate central line off body with towel if there is a chance of residual activity in line

• Tension and motion can increase muscle uptake

• Consider urinary catheterization
