Accreditation Modules
Accreditation in nuclear medicine is facility
based;
all units used by a facility must pass the evaluation
in order for a
facility to be granted accreditation.

Module 1 - General Nuclear Medicine (planar
imaging)

Module 2 - SPECT (single photon emission
computed tomography)

Module 3 - Nuclear Cardiology Imaging

Module 4 - PET/Coincidence Imaging
PET Accreditation
PET/Coincidence
Imaging facilities should apply once all personnel qualifications, equipment
specifications and quality control/quality assurance activities are established.
Sites applying for PET accreditation must apply for all sub modules performed:

ACR Decision Pathways

Initially complete entry application to ensure
qualification and submit fees

ACR sends full application package which
must be completed and returned for review within 90 days.

Correct deficiencies (additional fees to
resubmit clinical cases or
phantom images)

Accreditation offered for 3 years.
Decals for all approved units are provided. Non-approved units
cannot be used.
