SEMINAR: 45-HOUR REVIEW: THE BASIC SCIENCE OF NUCLEAR MEDICINE
This
five-day seminar is multi-purpose
The ONLY 45 hour nuclear medicine review
course offered nationally 4 times per year and the only course held between
September and March.
For those Nuclear Medicine Technologists preparing to take the NMTCB
examination, this 45-hour course has
been approved by and meets the alternate eligibility requirements of the
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and provides the
requisite number of hours in the following areas, as specified on the NMTCB
website:
15 hours of Radiopharmacy, 15 hours of Radiation Safety, and 15
hours of Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation and its associated Physics.
It serves as an excellent
review for the NMTCB or ARRT certification examination covering the
Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine
It provides practicing Nuclear Medicine
Technologists, Nuclear Medicine administrators, and representatives of
industry the opportunity with a comprehensive
review of the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine.
It provides a maximum of
24
hours of continuing education credit approved by the VOICE Program of the
Society of Nuclear Medicine.
Integrated into this course are presentations that cover all the
Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine. These include Nuclear Medicine Physics,
Radionuclide Generators, Radioisotope Production, Radiopharmaceuticals,
NRC/State regulations, Hot Lab Quality Control Procedures, Scintillation
Detection, Gamma Camera design, Operation, and Quality Control, PET, SPECT,
Computers and Image Processing and PACS, In Vivo Non-Imaging Procedures,
Radionuclide Therapy, Internal Radiation Dosimetry, and related topics.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT: For Nuclear Medicine and
Radiology Technologists: Approved by the VOICE Program of the Society of Nuclear
Medicine for 24 CE hours of VOICE Credit, recognized by the US Nuclear
Regulatory Commission and all State Departments of Nuclear Safety.

TIME:
Lectures are scheduled from 8 AM - 7 PM on days 1-4; on the last day,
class begins at 8:00 AM and the course ends at 1:00 PM.
TUITION FEE:
$1,000.00 for the 5-day course. Fee must accompany the
attached application form or must be paid by on-line registration (see
registration methods below). Included in tuition fee are breakfast, all coffee
breaks, handouts, and course materials. There is a $25 fee for cancellation
requests, which must be in writing. No refunds are available after course
begins. Enrollment is limited- please register early.

AIR TRAVEL:
It is most convenient to fly into either O'Hare International Airport or Midway
Airport, each of which is about 20 miles from the hotel. In either case, when
you have your luggage, simply call American Taxi at 847/255-9614 and give the
dispatcher your location. Their driver will pick you up within 5-10 minutes.
Flat rate fare to the hotel is approximately $40 from O’Hare International
Airport or Midway Airport and may be shared with other riders going to the same
hotel. There is a charge of $2 for each additional passenger.

If you are a practicing technologist wishing to receive CE Credit, please submit your NMTCB#, VOICE #, or NRC/State License #, your ARRT #, or any other credentialing information that you wish recorded on the course completion certificate. We will save a space for you in the course and give you two weeks to make payment. After the two week period, your reservation will be held, but no longer guaranteed. If the course completely fills up, as it previously has, your place will be given to another registrant. Regardless of registration method, you will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of your payment.
